Geography

Open Journal -> Advanced Analytics -> Geography. The Countries page compares active accounts, payers and gross receipts. The examples below use fictional data.

Filters

FieldBehaviour
ProjectAll available projects or one project. Accounts from different projects remain separate.
Game serverAvailable after selecting a project. All servers also includes events without a server; selecting one server limits both logins and payments.
PeriodA preset, a calendar year or custom dates. The default is the last 30 days.
From / ThroughBoth dates are included using UTC. You can examine all retained history, not only recent years.
Payment currencyAll currencies or one currency and precision. Different currencies and precisions are never added together.
Rows per page10, 25, 50 or 100 countries. The default is 25.

Press refresh after changing filters. Reset restores the defaults. The page address preserves the filters so the same selection can be reopened.

Overview: 27 active accounts, 18 payers and 2 accounts with an unknown country. Monetary amounts remain separate by currency.

Country attribution

An active account has at least one successful login within the selected dates and scope. Its country comes from the latest qualifying login. More visits do not increase the account count or multiply its payments.

Rejected attempts and attempts without an identified account are excluded. If the latest successful login has no known country, the account appears under Unknown country, even if an earlier login had a known country. Login location is not necessarily the player's residence: travel and VPNs can affect it.

Metrics and columns

The cards cover the full selected period, not just the current page. Country unknown is part of the active account count, not an additional population.

MetricMeaning
AccountsActive accounts assigned to the country.
PayersActive accounts with at least one eligible payment. A selected currency restricts which payments qualify. Each account counts once.
ConversionPayers / active accounts x 100%.
Gross receiptsPositive settled payments by active accounts within the selected dates and scope, before fees and refunds. This is not net revenue or player wallet balances.
ARPUReceipts in a currency / all active accounts in the country, including non-payers.
ARPPUReceipts in a currency / active accounts that paid in that specific currency.

Test operations and administrative funding do not increase receipts. Granted game coins and bonuses do not replace the amount actually paid. Processing the same payment again does not add another receipt.

Selecting a currency keeps all countries and active accounts in the report. Only payers, conversion and monetary figures change. With all currencies selected, do not add the payer counts of individual currencies: an account may have paid in more than one.

EUR is selected: active accounts remain at 27, while payers decrease to 10. Japan has an ARPU of 52.5 EUR and an ARPPU of 105 EUR because the denominators differ.

Countries without payments show No payments. Without active accounts, conversion is unavailable rather than zero. Countries are ordered by descending account count. Next and Previous keep that order; changing filters or refreshing starts again from the first page.

Payment attribution

The lower table explains how much of the receipts is included in the country comparison. For each currency it separates:

  • Attributed to active accounts: receipts for accounts with a qualifying successful login, including accounts with an unknown country.
  • Guests: payments without a registered account.
  • Accounts without a qualifying login: payments by accounts with no successful login within the selected dates and scope.

Guest payments and payments without a qualifying login are not assigned a country and do not contribute to ARPU, ARPPU or conversion. The example includes 225 USD from guests and 84.5 EUR from an account without a qualifying login. These amounts have not been lost.

Payments exist on the selected day, but there are no successful logins. The country list is empty while payment attribution preserves every amount.

Empty results and updates

New data may appear after a short delay. An empty country list means there are no qualifying successful logins in the available history. The lower table may still show guest payments or payments by accounts without a login.

No qualifying logins exist in the selected year. This is an empty result, not a loading failure.

Refresh if the data has changed or the page has expired. Select a project or narrow the period if the result is too large. During temporary unavailability, a warning replaces the previous rows until a refresh succeeds.

Review individual attempts in the login journal and period receipts in payment statistics.
