Pricing policies

A pricing policy calculates the payable amount for one purpose and asset pair. It defines the destination range, exact conversion, rounding, and optional payer or project fees.

Asset pairs, ranges, rates, fees, priority, and policy state

Create a policy

Open Payment System -> Pricing policies and choose Add pricing policy.

  1. Select the payment purpose.
  2. Enter the payment asset code and scale.
  3. Enter the destination asset code and scale.
  4. Define the minimum and maximum destination amount.
  5. Enter the conversion numerator and denominator.
  6. Select the conversion rounding mode and policy priority.
  7. Optionally configure payer and project fees.

The purpose and asset pair are immutable. Bounds, conversion, rounding, fees, and priority can be edited while the policy is disabled.

Exact assets and scales, allowed range, conversion ratio, and rounding

Exact conversion

Set the conversion using a numerator and denominator. For example, 3 / 2 means multiplication by 1.5.

Scale defines the permitted number of decimal places. Use 0 for an indivisible asset and 2 for a currency with cents. The selected rounding rule is used only when a result cannot be represented at that scale.

Fees

Each side may use a fixed amount, a percentage, or both:

  • the payer fee is added to the payment amount;
  • the project fee is deducted from the destination amount;
  • a 3 / 100 ratio means 3%;
  • each fee has its own rounding mode.

The project fee cannot reduce proceeds to zero or below at the configured minimum.

Edit an enabled policy

  1. Return to the pricing policy list and disable the policy.
  2. Open its edit form, change the values and save.
  3. Enable the policy again in the list.

An enabled policy displays a warning in its form. Trying to change it before disabling it does not save the new values. Disable a policy before archiving it as well.

If a message says that the settings have changed, refresh the page and review the current values before saving again.

Enabled policy: warning before changes, saved conversion and fees

Multiple policies

When several policies match the same purpose, the lower priority value is considered first. Separate policies by assets and amount ranges so that the result is unambiguous.

Before enabling a policy, verify its minimum, maximum, an amount between them, fractional rounding, and both fees. Then make a test payment and compare the original amount, fee, and final destination amount.

Change note

Use the Note panel to explain what you are changing and why. You can format text, add lists and insert links. The note is optional and is saved with the current changes when you select Save. You do not need to enter a separate reason code.
